I readI read this article on the website of Libération. It is in French, but it is an interesting story with beautiful pictures by the artist Anne-Valerie Benoit. A woman in Paris has scrapbooks of her life published after she dies. Her family can buy them, or so she hoped when she was alive, but her husband came up with the idea to send all these memories to people who bought them at a fair price in order to help fund his cancer treatment for his wife's illness. This is beautiful, but in the end she didn't die.

I read this article on page B6 of the New York Times Magazine. It is in English, but it is an interesting story with beautiful pictures by the poet Jonathan Lethem. The writer visits his father's old high school in Brooklyn and reminisces about his time there. He remembers the things he did, like listening to Charlie Parker at school, but also the things he did not do like go out to dances which was required during their year in high school when they were seniors because their little sister was sick. The writer remembers that year too and it is interesting that he does not want to talk about his time at the school today because it was hard.

I read this article on page D3 of the New York Times. It is in English, but it is an interesting story with beautiful pictures by the poet and illustrator Fuziya Fuzeyeva. The writer follows a lady to a restaurant in Moscow, which is called Маргаритки. They have chicken legs which you can taste before ordering so you know what they are like. Then there are thing they have called silent parts which are very nice, but the lady doesn't agree with the writer so she orders something else. This is a short article, but it gives you an idea about Russia.

I read this article on page D2 of the New York Times. It is in English, but it is an interesting story with beautiful pictures by the illustrator Oriol Bartra. The writer goes to Madrid to see how the elderly live there. He compares their lifestyle to that of his grandmother who lives here in France, but their living rooms are very different. There are big big beds and big big chairs where they sit down all day long because there are no toilets outside! They don't even have houses that look like houses. Each apartment looks like a hotel room because they are only 15 square meters. They are very small!

I read this article on page A1 of the New York Times. It is in English, but it is an interesting story with beautiful pictures by the artist Douglas Foster. The writer goes to Chinatown to see how New Yorkers live there. He compares their lifestyle to that of his grandfather because he lives here in France. They live close together, but they don't even speak each other's language! When his grandfather was young, people who lived in Chinatown couldn't go out because they were not white, which was crazy because now he can go wherever he wants to go. They do look funny though because they wear t-shirts and shorts even when it rains or snows or is very cold outside.
